If Someone Is Selling Something To You That They Don't Use, It's Marketing

Transcript:
Today, like yesterday's, it's nothing new. There is such an influx in the ability to share and make more stuff.
[00:00:08] It's just not good, man. It's not good. And there's no need for it to be good, but just stating it as it is, it's not very good. The work is quite poor, but because there's an ability to share, the dissemination of information is just at an all time high. And the problem with that, the natural consequence is what you find are humans who market things with no relation or understanding of it. Everything is an approximation to the product.
[00:00:41] If someone is selling something to you and they don't wear it, use it. It's false. It's just marketing. And the problem with that is you're always engaging and engorging on something that's not directly related to the thing for which you're inspired by. So if you're inspired by said artists and this artist makes merchandise, it doesn't matter what it is, if they themselves do not use the merchandise, and obviously I don't mean the dissemination of maybe music or spoken word.
[00:01:14] If they make clothing and they don't wear the clothes they make or they make a food product or a beverage and they don't actually drink it beyond the advertisement for which it's being sold it's marketing. So it, it affects you because if you're truly inspired by this individual, what they make you would wanna get as closest to what they make as possible. You would be interested in where it's coming from, not just in just getting products and random things that they make because they make it.
[00:01:39] If you're truly inspired by this individual, you would see what they wear. There are what people tell you to buy and to drink and to eat, and how to live and where to live. Yet they do not embody any of that. They don't wear those clothes. They don't drink those drinks. They don't sing those songs. Yet you want to be like these individuals. Yet the things that they're touting are in no relation to what they do on a day to day. These things must be seen because if an individual is serious about getting somewhere, if they're serious about even simply being inspired by another or wanting to do what someone else does, there's nothing wrong with that.
[00:02:18] That is pure, but it is in the distillation. It's in the distilling of understanding what is it that these people are doing, what are they doing that I'm not getting? What are they making that I'm not getting? Where are they getting that from?
[00:02:31] Because very few people actually wear what they sell. Very few people eat what they propagate to others to eat. Very few. You are spending all of your time looking to fit into the box that society and those who you look to as leaders in your given industry or communities, and they espouse things upon you for which for you to follow.
[00:02:58] Yet they themselves do not even imbibe those things. They don't even embody the things for which they're espousing. That's dangerous and one who is serious, this is, this again, is for one who is serious, one who is serious, will investigate that. Even as simple as wearing a shirt?
[00:03:17] Do they wear the clothes that they propagate? Do they actually wear, or are they just putting it on someone else who may look attractive to the status quo, who may appear in vogue right now and may be in vogue to have a person of a particular ethnicity or height or weight, or class or gender?
[00:03:32] It would behoove you, it would be wise to examine that. Otherwise you are just marketing. It's why I don't model, it's why I have zero interest in being a part of I need to investigate that and that and it's not an outright refusal to model, but I need to investigate where's this coming from?
[00:03:47] Does this make sense with where I'm going? Because there are many things I've done before where well, I didn't know that was gonna go there, or I don't, these people don't in actually even care about me beyond the audition process and fulfilling their needs. They're looking at me like a coyote is to a lone dog, a domesticated animal outside.
[00:04:06] One must be cautious and not out of fear, but because it's important to them to get where they want to go more than anything else. That is imperative. That is primo. That's number one.
