A documentation of the artist’s practice, observed from a Truman Show-like vantage.

Beginning in 2008 with a digital camera, Martins documented the making of his first album through a series of short videos—all self-hosted on his YouTube account—detailing the ideas that drove his work. The medium of documentation has varied over the years, yet what remained constant was the devotion to unearthing how things truly work: an interest in venturing beyond the veneer, often into unknown territory. These explorations manifested as brands: Good Posture, a label influenced by his Northeastern and Nigerian roots; Cereal & Such, a cereal bar known for sourcing rare-edition cereals, now producing 'Cinnamon Squares', a handmade artisanal cereal; and Office and Gallery, a studio and gallery under construction on a 2-acre parcel of land in Joshua Tree, CA. These brands emerged almost accidentally, as byproducts of Martins' desire to understand the nature of how things work. In the genuine pursuit of Truth came a realized vision. The Theo Show continues to serve as both documentation and producer of Martins' work.

About Theo Martins

Martins' artistic output has ranged from songwriting, production, illustration, graphic design and product design, to claymation and stop-motion films, interactive installations, and live performances. Martins has starred in various acclaimed independent films and written and recorded a multitude of albums, making his varied musical style and individuality difficult to categorize.
